Samudaia comes from samudaya (समुदाय), a Sanskrit and Pali word meaning community, gathering, or a coming-together of parts. In Pali it also carries the sense of “arising”: several things assembling into one.

That is close to the argument the product makes. A team is not a set of people who book time with each other; it is a group that is together, and the good parts of working together are the unplanned ones. So the software is a place you are in, not a series of meetings you attend.
